How Do You Insert A Picture Preview Into A Flash Video In Dreamweaver?
I’m using Dreamweaver CS3 and I’m able to easily insert a FLV Flash video into my site. The problem is that I have no idea how to insert a picture preview into the Flash video so people can see what the video is about before they watch it. It also looks a lot better to have a picture in the video instead of a black box, or whatever the beginning of the video happens to be. I appreciate the help.

I was having problems with this too. My Web Design teacher (I take an online course) finally emailed me step by step instructions to help with this. I don’t have CS3. I have MX 2004, but I will give you the instructions that I used maybe it will get you somewhere.
Using the default settings select OK.
Once the file has been saved, go to Insert > Media > Flash.
Flash:
1) Open up the Flash file you created.
2) You are now going to save this file as a movie.
3) Go to File > Export > Export Movie.
4) Save on your desktop.
5) Name the file.
6) Save as type: Flash movie (.swf)
7) Save
Dreamweaver:
1) Create a new folder on your desktop and name it.
2) Put you Flash file inside the new folder you created.
3) Now, open Dreamweaver
4) Select Designer (I skipped this step and it worked just fine).
5) Select New (I think I skipped this step too and it worked just fine).
6) Select HTML
7) Save this new HTML file on your desktop inside the new folder and name the file.
9) Select your Flash file that you have saved on your desktop inthe folder.
10) Save the file — don’t worry about previewing the file.
11) Close Dreamweaver.
This is the important part.
12) Open up the HTML file on your desktop.
