VSEO is to put it in a way that everyone can understand is optimizing your videos to drive as much traffic to them as humanly possible.

VSEO has been around for a little while now, however the impact its going to have on the way we market our products is going to make a big difference.

In 2007 Google launches USI (Universal Search Initiative) which means now that they will be merging news video and images into the serps.

Ok so what does this mean?

This means that using the correct optimization methods with your videos, you will be along side Mr CEO who spends 2million to reach the top spot on google, while your got there for free.

Now VSEO to explain it simply is either the optimization of the videos you send out to the video sharing sites, or the optimization of video through your own website.

So instead of having videos out there that link back to google video or Youtube, it links back to your site there for enabling your website to rank higher on the serps.

So how do we optimize our videos, well this still remains a bit unstable because at this very moment it is not possible for search engines to read actual video content.

Search engines have to be told what the actual video is by using text and various other methods like meta-data.

So lets look at the bigger picture, fundamentally its about optimizing your whole website for your video content, pages,embedded meta-data, text around the video, how fast your pages load.

All of the above come into play when optimizing video on either your own site or video sharing sites.

You have to look at VSEO as an extension of your day to day SEO strategies, if you want to get more views on your videos to get higher up video sharing sites optimize.

If you want to drive more traffic to your website through videos optimize, this new wave of VSEO is still in its baby stages and there is much more work to be done.

As i mentioned earlier its not possible as yet to actually rank higher through your video content because the search engine cant pick that up as yet, but with things like ART coming (Advanced Recognition Technologies)

Which will allow the search engines to pick up on voice recognition, facial recognition and so on, it is expanding at a rapid rate, ( i know sounds kinda like enemy of the state) but this is where we are heading.

So hold on to your hats ladies and gentlemen we are going to be in for a wild ride.
