Search engines always read, crawl and index text, text and only text. They do not recognize images, flash content or symbols. You can highlight the keywords and all the important textual information in your content matter through the use of bold and italic formatting to make it easier for the search engine spiders to read and index this information.
Next, you need to focus on the keyword density by making your web content keyword rich. You should try to make your website content keyword rich and focus upon maintaining a good keyword density.
If you have the right set of keywords in the right prominence and density, then consider half the battle won. Keywords also need to be included in the title of the web page. The ideal keyword density is between 5 to 25%. Anything more can do more harm to your webpage than good. So refrain from using keywords unnecessarily.
