SEO is not just about meta and title tags,but also about something the web designers take least note of. It’s the all important Content or web copy. Images and flash are o.k, but ultimately, it’s the text that sells.

Let’s assume that your target keyphrase is DVD Player. You create a great website,complete with flash and snazzy images, but write just one or two sentences describing various types of DVD Players you sell.

But dear, how on earth you make it clear to the search engines that the page is relevant for this particular keyphrase. Simply, because you haven’t given any idea to the poor search engines at all. And your competitor has. And he is reaping the benefits for this.

Don’t you want to attract targetted traffic ? That’s what your site is for. You can only do so by first selecting proper keywords and then sprinkling them in the content- not too much- otherwise it would look that you have nothing worthwhile to say. If it takes 300 words to tell the world about your product or services, then for search engine’s sake do so.

Online users are looking for quality information. Make your content stand out by marking it in bold or header tag, so that it is the first thing users see when they visit your site.

Content is what makes a difference between top ranked sites and sites buried deep in the search results. There’s another incentive to writing good content-people will link to you naturally. So, you would not only attract traffic by writing quality content, but would also increase link popularity, increasing your ranking and attracting more traffic.
