The Easiest Photoshop 7.0 Tutorial – Most Important Tools To Know

The Easiest Photoshop 7.0 Tutorial – Most Important Tools To Know

Learning how Photoshop 7.0 works is relatively easy…just as long as you know and understand how each category of tools work. But because there are a variety of tools provided in Photoshop 7.0, it’s certainly understandable if you’re feeling a little intimidated.

Most Important Tools to Know in Photoshop 7.0

Cropping Tools – Crop is simply a fancier term for cut, and if you know how the cut function works with text, then that’s basically how the crop function works with images as well.

Image Viewing Tools – There are only two tools under this category – hand and zoom – but you’ll be using both frequently. The zoom option is easy to understand because it simply magnifies or shrinks the image, so you should just concentrate more on learning about the hand tool.

Moving Tools – This is what you use to move a cropped or selected area from one image to another and for adding layers.

Painting Tools – In this category, you’ll be able to edit or add color to your images. The most basic tools are the brush and paint bucket – they work just the way their name implies. The airbrush can be used for a softened look. Other tools in this category are history brushes, the pencil tool, and gradients.

When using the painting tools, you’ll have the option of using pre-selected colors or creating your own palette. Make sure that you memorize the code for each color you create so as not to redo the whole process afterwards.

Retouching Tools – This category of Photoshop 7.0 tools is better suited for intermediate users. As its name also implies, retouching tools are used to further enhance the quality or overall appearance of your images. The eraser can be used to delete any part of the image. The patch tool and healing brush are both used to rectify errors in the image. Blur or sharp can be used to make the image fade or sharpen in appearance respectively.

Other tools in this category are smudge, sponge, burn, and dodge. You’ll find it easier to understand how each tool works by comparing before and after effects.

Selection Tools – There are two basic tools in this category: the select and deselect tool. Use the select tool to determine which area or part of the image you wish to focus on. Once the area has been selected, any subsequent action made will be applied to the selected area only. The deselect tool is used to undo the selection. Other tools under this category are the lassos – selecting irregularly shaped areas, quick mask, magic wand (a wonderful and easy to explore tool), and other marquee tools.

Vector Tools – If retouching tools are suited for intermediate users, vector tools are more suited for advanced Photoshop 7.0 users. Although very much in use in a professional capacity, they’re not something you’re likely to utilize frequently if all you’re interested in is making personal photos prettier for your online scrapbook.

Vector tools include pen, line, shape, and path select, and are used to create and edit vectors. If you’re interested in learning and understanding how vector tools work, be prepared to expend more time and effort than usual.

There are other tools offered by Photoshop 7.0 of course, but it’s best that you concentrate first on the tools listed above. If you still feel unsatisfied with what you can do with the tools described here then by all means increase your knowledge!

Know Adipex Side Effects to Stay Away From Its Fallacies

Know Adipex Side Effects to Stay Away From Its Fallacies

A drug does not have only a single ingredient. It comprises of many ingredients. While the manufacturer claims of having the constituent of the drug nothing to do with your body, it is important to note that every drug has its share of side effects. The major ingredient of the drug may be helping you in getting you out of the disease or ailment but it may also be acting adversely on other health issues.

Adipex is a diet pill that treats obesity by acting as an appetite suppressant. As suppression of appetite is necessary to get rid of obesity this diet pill helps a patient to stem over the problem by affecting hypothalamus gland and certain neurotransmitters to suppress appetite. But this suppression of appetite alone cannot make an obese individual have weight loss. One also needs to do exercises and follow a strict diet program to achieve a significant result.

Majority of the drugs are associated with some kind of side effects or the other and Adipex is no different. The serious side effects that are associated with the drug are – difficulty in breathing, swelling lips, closing throats, swollen face or tongue, hives, irregular heartbeat, increase in blood pressure, hallucination, abnormal behaviour or confusion. Other than these, less serious Adipex side effects are – tremor, nervousness, headache, insomnia, and change in libido etc.

If serious Adipex side effects occur a patient should stop taking the drug and talk to a doctor. And if less serious side effects occur one should go on taking the drug but should talk to the doctor so as to make adjustment of the Adipex dosage. To avoid Adipex side effects a patient should conform to the instructions given by the doctor or pharmacist.

The occurrence of Adipex side effects does not necessarily mean that it cannot suppress appetite. But the occurrence of Adipex side effects means that you may have health conditions which do not suit the ingredients of Adipex diet pill. And you need a slight adjustment or replacement of the drug with some other weight loss drug. Know Adipex better to stay away from misleading notions one has on it.

What You Should Know About Trackback Spam

What You Should Know About Trackback Spam

Trackback facilitates communication between blogs. When a blogger writes a new entry whether to comment on or refer to an entry found at another blog, the commenting blogger can notify the other blog with a Trackback ping. The receiving blog will display summaries and links to all the commenting entries below the original entry. Trackback spam is when Trackback pings to a site that directs viewers to a totally unrelated URL.

Trackback Explained

Trackback as initially released is an open specification both as a protocol and as a feature of Movable Type 2.2. This contained the first implementation of Trackback. It has always been planned as an open system or a system that could easily be implemented in other blogging tools. This is because of the fact that the real value of Trackback can only be realized when many sites support it.

Basically, Trackback is designed to provide a method of notification between websites. This is a way of one person saying to another that “This is something you may be interested in”. This can be done when a person sends a Trackback ping to the other.

Trackback is a form of remote comments where one person who wishes to comment on a post in another person’s blog writes a post on his own weblog rather than posting the comment directly on the other person’s weblog. The person commenting simply sends a Trackback ping to notify the other. Of course, this is only possible when both blogging tools support the Trackback protocol.

Trackback is likewise a form of content aggregation. When a person writes a post on a topic that a group of people are interested in, he/she sends a Trackback ping to a central server whereby all visitors can read all posts about the topic. Anyone interested in reading about a specific topic could look at the site to continue being updated on what bloggers have to say about it.

Blogging software that supports the Trackback protocol displays a “Trackback URL” along with every entry. This URL is used by the commenting blogger to send XML-formatted information about the new entry to this URL through his/her software. There are some blogging tools that are able to discover this Trackback URL automatically while others require the manual entry by the commenting blogger.

The protocol of Trackback is based on the principle of initiating the connection when sharing of information is desired rather than waiting for this same information to be discovered by other websites. Sites can communicate about related resources and are able to accomplish the automatic listing of all sites that have referenced a particular post. The ping also provides a firm, explicit link between entries as opposed to an implicit link that depends upon outside action.

Trackback is particularly useful in finding out whether other people are thinking well enough about what a person has written on a weblog to actually link to it. However, allowing Trackback links will require more site maintenance to remove Trackback links that are no longer valid. The capability of listing anyone who has placed a link to a site on one’s blog can be abused by spammers.

Trackback Spam

The flood of Trackback initiated by spammers can put a strain on server resources. The amount of Trackback spam that a site is getting may be seen by clicking on “Trackbacks” from the main blog menu and select “Junk Trackbacks”. The repeated pinging of one’s server even at hundreds of times an hour by spammers can cause server CPU overloads and crashes and can result to having the web host shut down the affected account.

There are some defensive measures that can be taken, one is to moderate all Trackbacks. The MT 3.2 allows for approval of all Trackbacks before being posted to a site. Closely related to this is the limiting of unnecessary Trackback usage. Trackbacks are pointless when no one tracks a site back. Not everything needs to be “Trackbackable” so prudence in determining the difference is required. This move is all about giving the spammers less opportunities to play at one’s expense.

The use of the powerful anti-spam Movable Type Plugin called Spam Lookup is another option. Being hit by a flood of Trackback spams can be stopped by looking for the common unwanted words or specific strings to block. Spam Lookup uses PERL Regular Expressions thus by adding a few characters to the keywords; more flexibility in what is being blocked is attained.

Spam Lookup can be configured at the blog or installation level. Configuring at the installation level is suitable for those who have just one blog or want any setting to apply across all the blogs on one’s installation of Movable Type. When settings are intended only to apply to one blog, one can configure Spam Lookup using the Plugins Tab of the Settings Item on the weblog menu.

The plugin has three options in its anti-spam arsenal. It looks up the source IP address of the comment or Trackback and compares it with several centralized blacklist servers. There is an option to force moderation of the comment and adjust its junk status when the IP address is found on the blacklist server. It also looks up the domain names of the posted links. The plugin is likewise able to compare the IP of the source URL of the Trackback with the IP it was sent from. The blog software sending the ping is usually on the same server as the blog itself. Most spams are sent from zombie machines and not from the website thus this sort of spam can be detected.

Link settings are also looked into. A comment that has no links is unlikely to be spam as blog spams generally aim to link to a dodgy site to improve its rankings in search engines. Any comment or Trackback that has more than a certain number of links shall be forcibly moderated.

The keyword filter setting act upon keywords in comments and will replicate some functionality of MT-Blacklist. This is an incredibly powerful feature except that the plugin, by default hardly has any keywords in it. The WordPress Wiki is a good place to find a list that can be pasted in.

The Trackback validator plugin for WordPress performs a simple but very effective test on all Trackbacks in order to stop spam. The plugin retrieves the web page located at the URL included in the Trackback when one is received. The Trackback is approved when the page contains a link to one’s weblog. If the page does not link, the Trackback is flagged as spam and rejected. Since Trackback spammers do not set up custom web pages linking to the weblogs they attack, this test would quickly reveal illegitimate Trackbacks.

Side Effects Of Turmeric—What You Need To Know

Side Effects Of Turmeric—What You Need To Know

This amazing herb’s use is on the increase now as more and more people become aware of it health giving properties, but what are the side effects of turmeric, if any?

On the whole, it is classified as a safe herb, with no adverse effects when taken at normal levels. However if you are taking any kind of strong medication it is also advisable to check with your doctor.

If you take very high doses as some companies are providing, than you may experience some side effects of turmeric like indigestion or heartburn, and at these rates, over 1000’s mg per day, it can also have a laxative effect.

The main problem with very high doses is bioavailability, that is the body’s ability to absorb it, and with many of the supplements on the market much is lost due to lack of a special coating and lack of other synergetic ingredients.

For example, you should look for a supplement that contains piperine, from black pepper, which can increase the bioavailability of turmeric by as much as 2000%! So there is no need for such high doses, around 50mg a day is recommended, and then you will not have to worry about any side effects of turmeric.

A special coating is also beneficial in order to gain the maximum potential, otherwise much is lost due to the stomach acid. A natural enteric coating will ensure safe passage through the stomach and into the upper intestine where the most benefits are to be had.

It is vital to get these factors right in order to benefit from the range of protective measures this wonderful herb provides, including prevention of cancer, heart disease, and many of the degenerative ones like Alzheimer’s, and even cholesterol lowering.

It is good to know that turmeric is synergistic with bromelain and green tea extract as well as piperine, and this greatly enhances its abilities to fight these diseases.

So instead of a high dosage stand-alone pill where you may get the side effects of turmeric, consider the benefits of a product with many ingredients that work synergistically together, and then you will reap the health benefits faster and more completely.

We all want to live longer and healthier lives, and by making sure we are getting the right balance of vitamins, herbs and minerals, we can go a long way toward achieving this. However, with the right supplement, many short term benefits like improved mental clarity, healthier skin and a better night’s sleep can also be had.

I hope this information on the side effects of turmeric will spur you on to greater health and an improved sense of well-being.

If you would like to learn more about the synergistic products which I personally take, including turmeric, visit my website today.

Tools That Every Single Internet Marketer Should Know Regarding Increased Website Traffic

Tools That Every Single Internet Marketer Should Know Regarding Increased Website Traffic

If you’re a smart web developer or internet marketer, you’ll make use of every element that promotes increased website traffic. It sound’s terribly easy, right? Think again. The key to good and effective search engine optimization or SEO is balance, and sometimes striking a balance is easier said than done.

Keyword density

By now, you should already know that the text in your website is a major tool that promotes increased website traffic. Unless you optimize the text in your website with significant keywords, the search engine crawlers won’t be able to recognize you.

Some internet marketers, though, make the mistake of over-optimizing their website. This means publishing articles that are too rich with keywords. These articles will tend to look totally useless for the human readers. You need to learn how to incorporate keywords into your text without making it seem unnatural, awkward or annoying. In other words, when you’re employing SEO tactics, you need to use your guy feeling and avoid overdoing things. Only include the keywords to your text when called for. If you’re unsure about how you should pull this off, you can always get professional web content writers to do this for you.

Simple but effective layout

Another thing you need to control when you’re planning your website is the layout. Amateur website designers tend to overdo flash images, graphics, and multiple frames. While these tools look fancy to the human eye, they don’t help much in getting the website ranked higher on search engines.

Remember, the key to effective SEO is balance. Make sure that you’re not incorporating elements into your design that aren’t necessary. If you can deliver your sales pitch without resorting to frames, make do with a simpler layout. Remember, flash images and photos take a lot of bandwidth, and they have very minimal text that search engine crawlers can detect.

If you’re placing a flash image into your website, remember that the more complicated it is, the slower it’ll upload on the visitor’s browser. Apply elements sparingly if they don’t contribute to page rankings online anyway.

Accolate Side Effects – it Pays to Know Before you Pop the Pill

Accolate Side Effects – it Pays to Know Before you Pop the Pill

Accolate is a popular brand name for the generic family of drugs known as Zafirlukast. It is commonly used for the prevention and treatment of chronic asthma. However, Accolate is not intended to treat acute attacks. Other uses of Accolate include using it to minimize breathing problems caused by exercising or sensitivity to aspirin.

As with most prescribed drugs, Accolate too has a few side effects that one should know about before starting on a course. Accolate is a prescription drug and it is in one’s best interest to follow the doctor’s instructions and the prescribed dosage as closely as possible. Accolate is taken as directed, usually twice daily, one hour before or two hours after a meal on a regular basis. It is important to bear in mind that while the drug should continue to be taken during an asthma attack, it will not stop the attack. It is meant to lessen the number and severity of attacks.

Accolate is generally regarded as a safe drug. Zafirlukast is widely prescribed by doctors worldwide to people with asthma and related breathing troubles. However, Accolate side effects are not entirely absent. Of all the observed Accolate side effects, headache, nausea and diarrhea are the most frequent ones. If these continue to persist, or get bothersome, one is advised to consult one’s doctor promptly.

In some rare cases, serious liver diseases may occur. If you notice any side effects such as persistent nausea, stomach pain, dark-colored urine, fatigue, yellowing eyes or skin, seek immediate medical attention. These Accolate side effects are extremely rare but very serious. If you experience any of the side effects mentioned above, use of this drug may need to be stopped. If treatment is stopped due to those effects, one should never take this drug again. Women carry a larger risk of getting liver problems from Accolate. Other rare but potentially dangerous Accolate side effects that need prompt medical attention are sore throat, bleeding, bruising, muscle aches and unusual weight loss.

Allergic reaction to Accolate is highly unlikely. However, should one develop an allergic reaction to the drug, medical attention should be sought without delay. Symptoms of an allergic reaction typically include rash, itching, swelling, dizziness and trouble in breathing.

It is impossible to enlist all the possible Accolate side effects within the brief scope of this article. One is, therefore, well-advised to contact one’s doctor or pharmacist as soon as any irregularity is noticed in one’s health after starting on a course of Zafirlukast.

Accolate comes with a few warnings. The more important ones are that it should not be administered to children less than 12 years of age or to anybody with a known sensitivity or allergy to any ingredient, with a liver disease or with moderately decreased kidney function.

Make tremendous savings on your purchase of Accolate at such premium Canadian online pharmacies as BuyLowDrugs.com. All it takes is just a few clicks of your mouse to buy Accolate online at special low international prices. The site is also a storehouse of tons of information on Accolate including dosage, Accolate ingredients, Accolate side effects and more.

Simple Seo Optimization, What Industry Leaders Dont Know

Simple Seo Optimization, What Industry Leaders Dont Know

The best thing about starting your own home based business is the cost. They are cheap, easy to maintain and it doesn’t take your whole life savings to start. A lot of entrepreneurs kick the can when they start, don’t know what to do, don’t bother to learn and in return, fail in 90 days. Or you can be like the other half who put nothing but money into their opportunity and see no results, say this isn’t working, and quit. With Google’s ever changing system it is tough to keep on top of the search engines, until today.

What happens if i have no experience?

I couldn’t even think of what SEO meant until i researched and learned. Three easy SEO steps that will give you the free traffic, generate leads that you can monetize on, no one needs experience.

1) Articles – Why do industry leaders always make the top dollar month after month? They have branded themselves to show themselves as leaders, they have released articles, videos, everything pertaining to their opportunity and how you can find success within it. Brand yourself as a top professional and release articles weekly, daily if you can. Article’s give you free placing on search engines and it will create the back-links you need to start increasing your page rank with Google, Yahoo and Bing. Free article releasing is the #1 way to get free traffic to your site and brand yourself as a professional.

2) Keyword Rich Content – No one wants to know how you think you are better than everyone else. Write a relevant article pertaining to your niche market. Use those keywords that you have researched that will generate you the specific traffic you are looking for. Use your title in your content, if you are writing about weight loss, use weight loss in your content and title, its that’s easy. It will bring the potential sponsor to your article and then in turn to your website. If they are looking for weight loss, they want a catchy title that involves weight loss. Remember, you only have the first 3-4 words of your title to bring the reader in.

3) Keep it interesting - You don’t need to write a 5 page article on why you think the sky is blue. Keep the readers intrigued with your content, keep it short and get to the point you need. No one will want to read your essay, everyone will want to read your short article on a quick and easy method to do something in their market.

Have your plan and set it into action. Release 4 articles a week if you can, more back-links you are able to get, higher of a page rank you will receive. Never buy leads and traffic again. Never submit your site to a page-rank damaging directory. SEO is easy, everyone can learn how to do it. No need to spend any more money on useless PPC.

Top 10 WordPress Terms You Should Know

Top 10 WordPress Terms You Should Know

My new WordPress clients are often confused about some of the terminology of WordPress. This makes it more difficult to communicate effectively with them about what they want from their WordPress sites and blog. So, I’ve decided to list the top 10 WordPress related terms everyone who uses WordPress should know.

Term 1: Themes

A Theme is a collection of files that create the visual look of your WordPress website or blog. Themes are kinda like ’skins’ that you can easily download, install and start using on your site. Themes also can include some custom features to give you greater control over the presentation and functionality of your site. In general, only one Theme can be used at a time.

Term 2: Templates

In WordPress, templates are one of several specific files that control how a particular page on your site is displayed. For instance, your theme may have multiple page layouts, perhaps one with a sidebar and one without. There are also templates that control the top of all your pages including navigation, called a “header”, the bottom of all your pages, called a “footer”, and “sidebars” (see below). Templates can also be created for a specific page or post, category, and much more.

Term 3: Plugins

Plugins are a collection of files that you can download and install to add some certain functionality to your site. For instance, there are plugins for e-commerce, Search Engine Optimization, to create specific features like a calendar, or to modify how you control and operate your website. There are 1,000’s of plugins, most of which are free.

Term 4: Sidebar

A sidebar is a section of your website that generally displays the along the left or right side of your pages, but can also appear in other places, such as the footer. You can also have multiple sidebars in your site based on the templates you have.

Term 5: Widgets

Widgets are the individual blocks of content that go into a sidebar. You can easily add, delete or rearrange Widgets in your sidebars by dragging and dropping in the WordPress admin center. Many Widgets can also be edited to give you extra control over how the Widgets appear on your site. Some common examples of Widgets are simple text, recent posts, advertising such as AdSense, etc.

Term 6: Pages & Posts

Pages vs. Posts are a bit confusing and could have its own article. In general though, you want to use Pages for any single pages of content that remain in the same place on your site. Pages generally have their own navigation in WordPress and are good for pages like ‘About Us’, ‘Contact Us’, etc. You can easily select different templates for pages and they are not categorized.

Posts on the other hand are used when you will be creating multiple entries about a particular topic. You can put Posts into various Categories. WordPress will then automatically handle creating various Category pages, which will list all of the Posts in that Category, generally showing only an Excerpt of the Post and putting the Posts in chronological order. For instance, if you had a blog on Hollywood happenings, you would use Posts each time you write a new entry about some celebrity doing something stupid.

Term 7: Admin Center

The Admin Center is where you control everything about your WordPress site. To access the Admin Center you will go to a specific URL on the internet and enter your username and password. From there, you will be able to add/edit/delete Pages and Posts, control Plugins and Widgets, manage your users, and much more.

Term 8: Permalinks

How your URL’s are formed is very important to Search Engine Optimization and making your pages more memorable and understandable to your visitors. In WordPress, you can easily create Permalinks, which are a particular structure to your site. Instead of using meaningless URL’s like yourdomain.com/?p=8, you could have yourdomain.com/my-page/. You can control the permalinks for each Page and Post in WordPress.

Term 9: Tags

Tags are similar to Categories, only they are less structured. For instance, you may have a Post about your favorite Football team, which perhaps you are putting in a “Sports” category. You could also use some tags like ‘Football’, ‘Cincinnati Bengals’, and ‘Carson Palmer’. Using the tags makes it possible to have a list of Tags in your sidebar where people can click the different Tags to bring up all the Pages and Posts that have those particular tags. If you have a Search box, then the Tags are also used to retrieve results for the users specific search.

Term 10: Custom Fields

WordPress includes a way to create custom values that you assign to a particular Page or Post. Your Theme, or WordPress developer can then use those fields and values to create custom functionality on your site. For instance, you may want to be able to have a rating system for whatever you are writing about. A developer could set-up a custom field where you just enter your rating and then the system takes that information and makes a pretty display feature based on the rating you assigned. The possibilities are endless with Custom Fields and are a powerful feature of WordPress.

I hope these terms help you to better understand WordPress and how it operates. Even if you have a professional helping you with your WordPress site, you’ll be better off understanding some of the basic principles so you can be on the same page when communicating with your developer.

Best of luck!

7 Ways to Know that Search Engine Optimization Isn’t for You

7 Ways to Know that Search Engine Optimization Isn’t for You

Truth be told, search engine optimization (SEO) may not be for
you.

Regardless of the product or service and company size, SEO just
may not be something you can handle – at least for now. If you
fall into one of these areas, you may want to just skip the
online marketing rage.

1. You don’t want to edit your content.

If you’re not willing to change your content, an SEO consultant
really can’t do much to help you. Really, the keywords people
use need to be in your content. It’s that simple.

2. You love graphics – lots of graphics.

Partial to graphics? Excellent. If you have plenty of business
and a pretty Web site, SEO may not be in your future. Again,
text helps – if you can work it into your Web site. But if you
love static graphic or Flash and “skip” intro buttons, you may
want to save SEO for another day.

3. Pages short on copy.

It’s not really a repeat of #2. We’ve some rather barren Web
sites with hardly any graphics and not enough copy. Honestly, it
sometimes seems like a hunting expedition may be needed to track
down more than a paragraph. How many words do you need? No one
knows the magic number. But 25 words usually doesn’t help.

4. You change your content a lot.

So you want to keep your home page fresh and exciting?
Unfortunately, major changes often conflict with the SEO
strategy. In other words, if you keep wiping out the keywords an
SEO firm inserts, the program is pointless.

5. You want to wait on the redesign.

Some companies get excited about SEO – high rankings and
increased traffic can pay off. But don’t get started on a
program if you’re just going to let your current Web site miss
out on search engine optimization. Some businesses just want to
gear up keywords for a new design months down the road while
neglecting their current Web site.

6. You can’t stand the thought of your page titles
changing.

The title appears in that blue bar in Internet Explorer – the
one way up there above “Favorites.” If you prefer to say “About
Our Company” instead of keywords that actually BRING traffic,
you might want to put SEO on the back burner.

7. You’re not willing to address other business problems.

SEO consultants can get you traffic, but they can’t make your
Web site more user friendly unless you let them. Maybe your
product page is too busy or your shopping cart is confusing
