9 Simple but Effective Tips to Prevent Heartburn
9 Simple but Effective Tips to Prevent Heartburn
Heartburn is a common problem for more than 60 million Americans. This is why it is such a tremendous money spinner for the pharmaceutical industry, which produces huge quantities of medication for a demanding market.
However, as the saying goes “prevention is better than cure” and there is a lot you can do to help prevent heartburn that does not require any medication. So, here we shall briefly consider some simple tips to prevent heartburn that have been well proven to produce effective relief for millions of heartburn sufferers.
Firstly, what causes the condition? Well very simply, heartburn is caused when the acidic stomach contents flow back into the esophagus (the tube which transports food from the mouth to the stomach). These acids cause inflammation of the delicate lining of the esophagus and this produces the characteristic “burning”. The main reasons for this occurring are either too much pressure on the stomach, a weakening of the muscular valve whose function is to prevent the stomach contents from flowing back, or a combination of the two.
So, how can you prevent this happening?
• Avoid those specific foods and drink that trigger your heartburn
• Eat smaller meals more frequently during the day. This helps to prevent the stomach becoming overloaded. Chewing your food well also helps by aiding its transport through the digestive system
• Don’t eat within three hours of your bedtime.
• After eating, don’t lie down to watch TV.
• Don’t wear tight fitting clothing or belts that can put pressure on your stomach.
• Elevate the head of your bed by placing blocks or using a wedge pillow. This helps gravity do its work.
• Lose weight – if you are significantly overweight then you are putting extra pressure on your stomach which can result in the acidic stomach contents being forced back into the esophagus.
• Avoid or reduce alcohol intake as alcohol causes a relaxation of the muscular valve that prevents the acidic stomach contents from flowing back into the esophagus.
• STOP SMOKING – apart from all the many reasons to stop smoking, nicotine, like alcohol, causes the muscular valve to relax.
So, there you have it, some very simple yet highly effective ways in which you can significantly prevent heartburn and gain some welcome relief without the need to take any medication.
Of course this will not cure your heartburn but if you do require medication why not consider taking some form of natural medication which can be equally as effective but will not produce any of the adverse side effects which conventional medications are known to do.
Finally, while the pharmaceutical industry has been unable to produce a cure, then if you are open minded enough, you might want to investigate the astonishing results that a revolutionary new, completely natural program of treatment has achieved. Thousands of former sufferers are now enjoying a totally heartburn-free life. Wouldn’t you like to be one of them?

Effective Tips To Prevent Acne Before It Starts
Effective Tips To Prevent Acne Before It Starts
Acne is a common skin condition that affects almost everyone at some time in their lives. Certain reports have noted that over ninety percent of the world’s total population is affected by acne, and it’s so sad to tell that until now there is still no particular method that will cure or eliminated acne totally.
However, there are some basic steps and precautions that can help you control acne before it starts. Consider the following details.
Tips to prevent acne before it starts:
You can definitely control acne before it starts by simply not picking, popping, or squeezing the acne lesions you have. Always note that squeezing or picking the acne can just worsen the condition as it can lead to further infection and scarring on the skin.
The act of washing your pillowcase often and using clean face towels will also help to prevent acne before it appears. Dirty pillowcases and towels are potent carriers of bacteria and germs that can cause acne from forming, so you better keep away from them.
You can also prevent acne before it starts by simply pulling your hair away from your skin when you sleep, as well as by showering as soon as possible after you engaged in workout or exercise since sweat that is combined with skin oils can actually trap the dirt and bacteria in your pores, leading to acne.
If you have a makeup, you remove it before going to bed so to prevent acne before it appears. Perhaps one of the reasons for this is the fact that makeup can clog your pores and lead to breakouts.
You can prevent acne before it starts to appear if you make sure that all the cosmetic brushes you are using are cleaned in soapy water. And if possible, throw out the old brushes as well as contaminated makeup since they may only trigger the formation of acne.
And, you can control acne before appearing by means of using topical treatments like the Nature’s Cure Vanishing Cream, one of the hottest acne skin care products in the market today. With the application of this kind of acne treatment, you can not only eliminate acne, but you can control new acne before it starts to form.
These tips and precautions are now highly considered by some acne patients knowing that they will help them not just in getting rid of existing acne, but prevent new acne before it starts to occur. But, if you will consider some products out there to prevent acne before it appears, just be careful about what you choose to use.

How To Prevent a WordPress Disaster
How To Prevent a WordPress Disaster
You’ve probably heard it a million times – you NEED to backup your data or you risk losing it all forever. This is no less important when you are using WordPress. In fact, it may be more important given that open-source applications like WordPress are more susceptible to hacker attacks. I can tell you from personal experience how important it really is.
It’s not been too long ago that I went to the homepage of my own site to discover it wasn’t my homepage anymore, but rather had some images I’d prefer not to be associated with! I thought it was a mistake at first, but soon discovered that I’d been hacked. Thankfully, I had a backup system in place and was able to quickly recover my site. If I hadn’t – I would have had to recreate my entire site over again – not at all a pleasant thought.
To effectively protect your website you need to 1) Have an automatic backup system in place, 2) Secure your WordPress installation to make it much harder to hack into, and 3) Keep WordPress updated so that you have all the latest security patches.
The good news is that WordPress makes it easy to take all three steps. Some of the steps are quickly accomplished with a plugin while others are built straight into WordPress. You will be protected in any situation, whether your site is hacked, your hosting company disappears, you make a mistake, or your database gets corrupted.
In this first of a three part series we are going to look at the most important step, getting a backup system in place. This step alone gives you full recover-ability should disaster strike and is the absolute minimum every single WordPress user should do to protect themselves.
What You Need To Backup
There are two main components to a WordPress website or blog, the database that contains all of your setting and content, and the files that make up WordPress including your Plugins and Themes. You’ll be able to recreate your entire website/blog using these two items.
Backing Up Your Database
Keeping your database backed up is most critical as it changes constantly. Every word, image, comment, and setting on your site is stored in this database, so it is being updated continuously and needs to be backed up routinely.
The easiest way to backup your database is to use the WP-DB-Backup plugin. This free plugin will automatically backup your database and email you the file. You choose the frequency of the backup and which tables you want to backup (I back them all up).
I also recommend setting up a Gmail account and having the backups sent to it. This way, you don’t clutter up your regular email with the backups and it’s unlikely that you will ever run out of storage space for the backups as Google now offers of 7GB of storage space and is increasing it all the time, yet database backups are usually relatively small files.
Just set-up the WP-DB-Backup plugin, have it email to a dedicated Gmail account and you will well-protected against a complete loss of your website content.
Backing Up Your WordPress Files
This part is a little more tricky, but isn’t as important as backing up your database unless you make a lot of changes to your theme and plugin files directly (you probably aren’t).
To backup your files, you generally are going to need to use a FTP program, which lets you see the files on both your own computer and your server (ie your hosting account) and to easily move files from one to the other. All you need to do is set-up your FTP program, create a folder on your computer to store your file backups (create a new folder for each backup), and then download the folder on your website called “wp-content”.
The “wp-content” folder is generally located in a “www”, “htdocs”, or “public_html” folder, though can vary depending on your hosting company. You may also have to drill down a little further into the folders if your WordPress isn’t installed in your root directory. For instance, if you access your WordPress via a URL like www.mydomain.com/myblog/, then the “wp-content” folder will be within the “myblog” folder, which in turn will be inside one of the folders listed above.
Doing It All Automatically
There is also now a plugin called “Automatic WordPress Backup” that automates the entire process of backing up both your database and your files – and storing the data with industrial reliability supplied by the Amazon S3 service. With this plugin, you can “set it and forget it” for the most part (you should double-check things periodically), but there are some drawbacks.
Mainly, the plugin doesn’t work on all hosts, though it does on most. To find out, you can visit the plugin site and view the “web host compatibility” link to see if your host is supported. It’s also a little more involved to set-up but the developer offers some good instructions/videos on how to get it running.
The other drawback is that you have to use Amazon’s S3 service, which isn’t free and requires a little set-up. The service is super-cheap however for a typical WordPress website and will only rarely cost more than /month. Having your backup on a separate system adds another layer of security to your backup routine is beneficial as well.
It seems that some people aren’t able to get the plugin to work correctly either, but it’s clearly better to have everything backed-up automatically and “off-site”, making this plugin a good choice if you are able to use it. Just Google “Automatic WordPress Backup” to learn more about and download the plugin. You can verify it’s working by checking your Amazon S3 account and ensuring the backup files are there.
Conclusion
Regardless of how you set-up your backup system – make sure you get one set up! It’s definitely worth hiring a professional to help you if you aren’t comfortable setting it up yourself, or if you just don’t have the time. Just be sure to get it done one way or the other before disaster strikes and you lose all your hard work.

How to Prevent Spam Comment Bots Attack
How to Prevent Spam Comment Bots Attack
Have any site? Of course you have, at least you have one Wordpress Blog, if you don’t have it, you will not read this post
When we do blogging with wordpress or any else generator, our first enemy were SPAM COMMENT BOT. This is software or script that automatically submit comment in your site with fake email and lots of hyperlink to their (spammer) site. Frankly, this will not harm your website rank, but it will make you angry to deleting that spam comments one by one.
How to Prevent Spam Comment Bots Attack?
There are three way that i know (at least for this time).
1. Using Akismet
2. Using Captcha
3. Using Anti Spam Comments Bot
Let me describe it one by one.
—Akismet—
This plugins were great!, it have nice job to prevent spam comment to show inside our post. But this still make us angry, because those spam comments not deleted instantly!. It will moved into “SPAM Comments Area”, and will deleted after certain time (30 days). If bots that attacking you were only lays 10 Comments each day, in one month you will only get 30 spam. That’s were easy bro! This condition will no harm at all. But, i got another experience for this, and this is a bad experience!. I use LIMITED hosted service for my wordpress blog, and Spam Comments that i got for one month is more than 3000!. What is the effect? Those spam comments eats my storage!, and it force me to get SUSPENDED by my hosting service, because my disk space were FULL!. Shit! This condition force me to deleting all of those comments if i want my site to run again. In this case, those AKISMET were USELESS!. So, when you use limited hosting space, and got too many spam comments, DO NOT USE akismet!
—Captcha—
This plugin will instantly blocking spam bot to lay comments in your site!, because spam bots could not read the captcha characters. (Captcha plugin force your visitor to re-write the characters that shown as the “key” to put comments.
So, is this the best way to avoiding spammers attack?
Nope!
)
I also had bad experienced about this captcha plugins (may be i choose the wrong captcha plugins). This is the story : Last day, i using Captcha Plugins to PROTECT this site from spammers attack. It works great, because i got no spam comments at all in one month! (actually, no comments at all). I assume that this plugin were works perfectly. Few days later, i got message from my friend (from email) that he cannot put comments in this site!. WTF!!! So, i check it, and i try to give comment to one of this site post. Shit!, It’s true!. I cannot put my own comments also. Then i try to de-activated this Captcha plugin. Then, my site works perfectly.
I am not judging that all captcha plugins were bad, maybe i choose the wrong ones!, but something that i believe, if i activating captcha plugins, maybe some of my visitor were disappointed, because they have do read and re-write those character. Especially when those characters that show up were too hard to recognized.
—Anti Spam Bot—
Today, Best Garage Door site and Repair Foundation Info site were protected by WP-Captcha Free Plugins. This plugins job were blocking spammer bot to commenting in our site without showing any character that force our reader to re-write it (if someone wanna commenting our post).
So, i think that this plugins were the best!, at least it suitable for my style. Two points that i bold in this plugins : one – It will not giving trouble to real human to commenting my post second – no spam bot will successfully lay their egg inside my post.

5 Easy And Effective Tips To Prevent Myopia In Children
5 Easy And Effective Tips To Prevent Myopia In Children
Nobody wants to suffer from myopia, a kind of illness that prevents someone from seeing distant objects clearly. Although corrective measures such as wearing a pair of glasses or contact lenses are widely available, it can be quite a hassle and may even cause a dent in your wallet. Instead, here are five quick and effective tips for you to prevent myopia in your children.
Adopt good eye habits
It is vital that you adopt a healthy lifestyle for your eyes. Books should be approximately 30cm from the eyes to ensure correct postures when reading or writing. It is also advisable not to read or write in a moving vehicle or while lying on the bed. If you do have to strain your eyes by working long hours in front of the computer screen, remember to take a five to ten minutes break every forty minutes. Use the time to take a walk or look out the window to relax your eye muscles. Having a sufficient amount of sleep will also help in the prevention of myopia.
Ensure modest lighting when using your eyes in close quarters
Using your eyes in close quarters with strong or weak lighting is a sure way to cause myopia. Ensure that you use modest lighting in close quarters. It is advisable to use 40-60W incandescent lamp on the side of your desk in the evening or when you are in a dark room. Incandescent lamps give off a soft lighting and have good colour development to keep your eye muscles relax and prevent eye fatigue.
Take the essential nutrients that help your eyes to stay healthy
Vitamin A, C and E should be part of your daily diet. Keep in mind that dairy food such as milk and egg yolk, liver, green leafy vegetables and carrots are also healthy for the eyes. Take note of these important nutrients and food, and include them in your daily food intake. Candies and food with high animal fat content, however, may actually speed up the development of myopia.
Fix an appointment with your optometrist on a regular basis
Do not just visit an optometrist when you start experiencing signs of myopia. Instead, make it a habit to have an eye check-up every three to six months to establish the state of your eyesight. You may monitor your edge of vision, which should be at about 1.0. If your edge of vision dips below 1.0, you may immediately have your vision corrected by your optometrist.
Be in good physical shape
Be active and carry out physical exercises regularly. Illnesses such as malnutrition, chronic diseases and even weakness can easily lead to myopia. So step out and play sports or any outdoor activity to keep yourself physically fit and healthy.
If you are already suffering from myopia however, do not fret. Make an appointment with an optometrist to ensure that you’re wearing an accurate pair of glasses or contact lenses. There is still a possibility that your eyesight will improve, as long as your lens strength, angle of astigmatism axis and the distance between your pupils are accurate.
Alison Lee has been a healthcare professional for the past decade. Her interest lies in educating the public about eyecare treatments, such as myopia control, lasik surgery, bladeless lasik and epi lasik.
Four Web Design Mistakes That Can Prevent a Front Page Listing
Four Web Design Mistakes That Can Prevent a Front Page Listing
Getting targeted visitors to your site takes much more than creating something that’s visually appealing, choosing some keywords, and then waiting for the traffic to arrive. These four web design mistakes can either prevent people from finding your website or make them want to leave it immediately if they happen upon it. They are:
Assuming that keywords which will drive traffic are obvious – This is a common mistake that can waste a lot of time, effort, and money. Without extensive keyword research, choosing which keywords and phrases will hopefully drive traffic is pure guesswork. Usually those guesses end up being either too broad or too narrow, making any kind of SEO success close to impossible. Going too broad means that futile SEO efforts will be spent on a competitive an unfocused search segment. Imagine trying to get to the top of search rankings for a term like “clothes”. Go too narrow and there won’t be any traffic because no one is using those search terms. Keyword research can define a sweet spot of good traffic numbers combined with light competition making SEO success much more likely.
Putting an entry page on the site – These are usually flash based pages which visitors land on first. Visitors land and then have to watch some graphics while waiting for the “To enter, press here” button. These are precious seconds in terms of keeping a visitor on the site and a high percentage of them won’t wait and will quickly bounce off to another site.
Go with form over function – Flash may look great but visitors may not appreciate it (see #2) and the search engines don’t like it either. The dislike (it might be more like ambivalence) of the search engines comes from the fact that their spiders have a problem reading Flash. Regardless of its relevance, without input from the spiders the content is not going to be indexed.
Static content – Without fresh content, visitors are unlikely to return and search engines will ignore the site. Fresh quality content will keep both sides happy.
Avoiding these mistakes from the beginning on a new website or a redesign of an existing one will go a long way toward generating traffic and then keeping it on the site once it gets there. How to Detect and Prevent a WordPress Spam Injection Attack
How to Detect and Prevent a WordPress Spam Injection Attack
Last month my WordPress blog was the victim of a spam injection attack. I am the art director for a highly rated graphic design and website design company. I have years of experience in website design, WordPress Blog Design and I am security minded in my approach to web development — I was still a victim of clever hacking. It can happen to anyone and it is happening at an increasingly alarming rate. The worst part about this experience was that not only my WordPress blog was attacked – my entire corporate website was removed from Google SERPS. We were ranked in the Google Top 10 for several coveted spots such as; graphic design company, packaging design companies, brand identity company, and many more. Our site was completely out of Google search results for two weeks in which time we lost countless leads. This experience absolutely sickened me! It also created way too many hours of work dedicated to repairing the hackers damage and recovering our website’s Google Rankings. During my research into fixing the spam injection hackers damage I discovered that this is a widespread problem with WordPress blogs. It’s happening to thousands of people and it is not limited to people using older versions of WordPress.
Recovering from a WordPress Spam Injection attack is not fun, but you can regain your Google Search Results after being hacked by a spam injection attack. If you’ve been compromised, hopefully you have your website and WordPress blog backed up. It can be a pretty tedious process to go through every file and folder on your server locating and deleting spam files. I recommend backing up your WordPress posts and completely removing all files and databases from your server. Then do a complete fresh upload of your website and a complete reinstall of WordPress.
If you have already been removed from Google Search Results then you will want to notify Google immediately of what has happened. The best policy with Google is to be specific in your explanations. You will need to make sure that you have removed all bad files from your server and then contact Google again explaining what actions you have taken to resolve the situation and submit your “request for reconsideration”. In most cases where a valid site has been hacked Google will restore their sites rankings within two weeks. However, don’t expect any notifications from Google on their progress of reevaluating your website or WordPress blog. I am writing this article in hopes that it will help anyone from having to go through that processs.
What should you look for if you suspect a WordPress Spam Injection Attack?
The first thing you should look for is a list of spammy keywords showing up in your list of keywords located in your Google Webmasters Tools. If you aren’t using Google Webmaster Tools then you should definitely look into this. When your site starts showing up in weird looking search results, which can also be seen in Google Webmaster Tools under search results for your site, you need to act fast because at this point Google will act fast to remove your site from SERPS in order to protect others who may be at risk from visiting your website.
The key to detection is awareness. Be vigilant in monitoring your website and your website’s stats. Spam injections are a clever, effective form of hacking and show no outward signs of infection. However, If you do a Google Site Search for spammy key words like; {site:yoursite.com spamword} you will be able to see if your site is referencing spam keywords. You will not be able to see spam showing up on your site. In order to physically see spam tags in your site you must go to the “cached” version of your web pages and view them in “text mode”. If you’ve been infected you will now be able to see spam keywords, usually appearing as a footer.
What does a Spam Injection Do?
Spam Injection software hides spam keyword links in code that is usually encoded with a PHP function that effectively scrambles html to be decoded once safely embedded on your server, database, etc. You won’t see these files decoded, but the Google Bot and other bots will when crawling your site! Once the Bots access the code the spam injection software has done it’s work, effectively stealing your search index to improve their own pagerank.
These spam injection hacks are very hard to detect software injections inserted into your site, usually on a database level, via templates or plugins. This is part of the reason WordPress is such a target for these attacks. Plugins are what make WordPress so dynamic and cool, but they are an open doorway for spam injection software. For obvious reasons we should all focus our attention on prevention so that you don’t have to deal with detection.
What can I do to prevent a WordPress Spam Injection Attack?
I’ll start with the simplest things you can do to protect your WordPress blog or site from spam attacks first. . .
First: Update WordPress
Updating WordPress is the easiest thing to do, so why not do it? I usually wait a short period of time after a new release to make sure the bug fixes have been worked out. Please be aware that simply updating WordPress is NOT enough!
Second: Pick a good password
Pick a good password. Don’t use the same password on every site. If you’re really diligent you can also change your password regularly.
Third: Change the admin user name
The default WordPress user name is “admin”. This is just a guess, but I suspect that the majority of people never change this. Don’t give any information away. Hackers are clever, but like burglars they would rather move on to the easy score. You can change your admin by creating a new user and then deleting the admin user. You’ll be given the option to migrate posts to another user.
Fourth: Hide your WordPress Version Number
David Kierznowski of blogsecurity.net lately released a simple plugin to hide your wordpress installation version number.
The no version plugin is a simple plugin that will replace the version number with blanks, so anyone doing a view “page source” from the browser on your site will not be able to see your wordpress version.
Fifth: Protect your plugins
Plugins are the easy gateway way for hackers to access your blog. All WordPress files begin with (wp-) by default so, hackers can quickly discover which plugins you’re using by going to /wp-content/plugins/, if you haven’t renamed your database files. A quick remedy to block a blank index.html file in the wp-content/plugins/ folder.
More Complex Procedures:
First: Protecting your WP-Config file.
This file contains your database name, database username and database password. Obviously, you don’t want anyone to have access to something this valuable. If you don’t feel comfortable making changes to your config you may want to contact your hosting company for help otherwise you can add the following code to your .htaccess file:
PHP:
1. # protect wpconfig.php
2. <files wp-config.php>
3. order allow,deny
4. deny from all
5. </files>
Second: Change your database names
Note: do not attempt this unless you are comfortable with PHPMyAdmin and making changes to MySQL. If you are not comfortable with this you should hire a professional to assist you.
Begin by backing up your database!
Many people have problems with the database table name prefix changing functionality of WP Security Scan. You can manually change your database names following the instructions below.
1. BACKUP your WordPress database to a sql file – you can do this in “phpmyadmin”.
2. You should Deactivate your plugins as a precaution before proceeding. You can reactivate them after you have finished.
3. Make a copy of the .sql file you created, then you can open the .sql file and use a text editor to find and replace all “wp_” prefix to “rename_”.
4. Now, drop all tables of your WordPress databases, but DO NOT drop the database.
5. import the (.sql) file that you have just edited into your wordpress databases.
6. Finish by editing your wp-config.php file and change the $table_prefix = ‘wp_’; to $table_prefix = ’something_’;
I hope that this article will help someone avoid the fallout associated with a spam injection hack. I love the functionality of WordPress, but unfortunately, this experience has left me so cautious that my company no longer uses a WordPress Blog along with our corporate website. Maybe someday.

2. If the page contains a link to your weblog, the TrackBack is approved.
3. If the page does not link to your weblog, the TrackBack is flagged as spam and rejected.
Because TrackBack spammers do not set up custom Web pages linking to the weblogs they attack, this simple test will quickly reveal illegitimate Trackbacks.
WP-SpamFree and Trackback Validator

Invisible Defender
wpsecurity1This plugin specializes in protecting registration, login and comment forms from spambots by addin g two extra fields hidden by CSS. This approach gave me 100% anti-spam protection on one of my sites.
The idea behind this plugin is simple: SPAMBOTs either fill every form field they find (generic spambots) or fill WordPress-specific fields only (spambots which will recognise WP or are targeting WP only). Therefore it is sufficient to add two extra text fields to form (one empty and one with predefined value), and check their values after the form is submitted. 1st field (empty one) will be filled by generic spambots, and 2nd one will not be filled by spambots targeting WP only. With these two simple checks probably all spambots can be easily detected, so WP can return error “403 Forbidden” for them.
These two extra fields are hidden with CSS rule, so they will not be visible for most users. Only users with text-based browsers (and very old ones which not support CSS) will see them. Invisible Defender also shows number of blocked spammers in Dashboard, so you can see that it really works.
Akismet
Akismet is quite possibly the most important and useful plugin you will ever install. It has been developed by the actual team behind Wordpress, if that is not enough of a seal of of approval and a guarantee, I don’t know what is. In a nutshell, Akismet checks your comments against the Akismet web service to see if they look like spam or not and lets you review the spam it catches under your blog’s “Comments” admin screen.
Requires WP2.0 or higher and is compatible up to WP 2.8.4.
