Effective Tips on How You Should Call Him Up

Effective Tips on How You Should Call Him Up

If you would like to make a success of your relationship, then one of the important things is to know how and when you should call him. The phone plays quite a significant role in building – or breaking – a relationship. It is not just a tool of communication.

One of the delicate things that you will need to handle in your relationship with a man is when you should be the first to pick up the phone. Calling him too often is just likely to do more harm than good. There are high chances that he will not take you seriously enough, or he may get turned off completely. On the other hand, if you do not call at all, as some people will advice you, you will appear to have been taking him for a ride, that you were not really serious.

Call only when it’s necessary

Although the issue of making phone calls is something that many women struggle with, the guidelines are really quite simple. Unless it is absolutely necessary for you to call, don’t do it. Although this may seem rather unreasonable, it is the method that yields positive results.

Men are hunters by nature, and when you keep calling, you will usurp his role as the chaser. Since men love chasing things, even their girls, when you keep calling, he won’t have any chasing left to do and he will relax. This comfort is not exactly good for the relationship as it takes out the romance, leaving just mere formalities.

If you would like to encourage your man to call you more often, don’t call him. In an effort to satisfy his curiosity, he will call you up.

This method has proven very effective over the years. When you give him room to chase you, he will call. If he does not call at all even after this, then he is not really interested in the relationship.

Guitar Effects Pedals: 5 Pedals Everyone Should Own

Guitar Effects Pedals: 5 Pedals Everyone Should Own

So, you’ve got your guitar rig, amp, and some skills under your belt. You’re looking to spice up your sound a bit with some effects, but you’re not sure what kind to get, what they do, or anything else about them for that matter. Not to worry, choosing pedals is relatively simple. There are only a few major types, and though you can get many others kinds, keeping things simple is usually the best approach. In this article, I will outline the different types of pedals available, what you can expect from them, and how to choose the best model.

First and foremost, a gooding tuner pedal is an essential accessory for any gigging musician. Sure, you might be able to tune by ear just fine under normal circumstances, but things might get a bit harder on a noisy stage. A tuner pedal cuts off the signal from your guitar (so your audience doesn’t have to hear the tuning process), and gives you visual indicators as you tune your string, allowing you to keep in perfect tune even in the most difficult of conditions. Though this isn’t an “effects pedal,” its such a key item that I still needed to mention it.

A reverb pedal is perhaps one of the best basic pedals you can get. Unless you’re fortunate enough to own an amp with high quality built in reverb, you probably don’t have a really good reverb sound available. Reverb adds a lot of depth and atmosphere to a piece of music. Of course, like many effects, it can be easily over used, but in moderation it is excellent. There are many types of reverb, ranging from high tech digital designs to really basic technologies. One of the most sought after reverb types is modeled after the spring reverb found in early Fender amplifiers. These are expensive, but they do give a very lovely vintage tone. If you’re interested in a reverb unit, be sure to listen (and play through, if possible) each pedal to see if it has a sound that suites you well.

The most commonly desired pedal by many players is the distortion pedal. A distortion pedals, as its name implies, distorts the signal from your guitar to give a distinctive sound. Of course, there are many ways of accomplishing this distortion, so every pedal has its own unique sound. It’s hard to give general guidelines for choosing a distortion pedal, since every one is completely different, but you should definitely make sure that your pedal does not sound too harsh. This harshness is a common flaw with cheaper or lower quality distortion pedals, so try to buy quality.

Another essential pedal is the delay pedal. A delay pedals plays back your guitar sample in a loop, with a given decay. It’s a little hard to explain, but if you listen to almost all songs by U2, or “Run Like Hell” by Pink Floyd, you’ll hear the effect clearly. It’s a fairly complicated effect and requires precise timing to get the repeated loops to sound in rhythm, but the final effect is worth it. Definitely a pedal to check out. One of the most important aspects of choosing the delay pedal is that it has intuitive controls. You don’t want to be fussing around with a bunch of fiddly controls on stage.

For the final pedal, I recommend getting whatever you want. This may seem like a copout on my part, but I can’t speak at all to your personal sound and style. If you’re going for a trippy sound, try a flanger. If you need a wah pedal, by all means get one. The point is, sound is very personal, and nobody else can tell you what to get. Shop around, play around, and you’re sure to get the pedal board of your dreams.

Botox Side Effects – Should You Worry About Them?

Botox Side Effects – Should You Worry About Them?

Botox injections and treatments are gaining popular through mainstream society these days. Women of all ages now use it to prevent lines, wrinkles and to enhance their appearance, and older women use it to reduce the appearance of wrinkles that may have already formed.

So, what about the negative side effects of Botox? Are there any? Even though botox has gotten some bad publicity over the years, we rarely hear anything about the negative side effects of Botox.

A Little Botox History

Way back in the 1820s, a German physician by the name of Dr. Justinus Kerner set out to find answers to the deaths of German citizens who had consumed sausage. Through is research he learned that of the many that died most had been overtaken by botulism – food poisoning. OK, so that means that one negative side effect to botox is death, although it is very rare and highly unlikely these days, but you should consult a licensed physician before undergoing any procedure.

Continuing his research, Dr. Kerner also distinguished seven different strains of botulinum toxin, naming them strains A through G. But he found that only four strains – A, B, E, and F – are life threatening to humans.

Mid-Century Development

During the mid 1950s and 60s, two other doctors, Drs. Edward J. Schantz and Vernon Brooks experimented further into botulinum toxin , using controversial animal testing techniques that could not be used today because of their cruelty and inaccurate results. Nevertheless, the two doctors found that botulinum toxin type A, despite its risk to humans, was very effective for treating people with crossed eyes and spastic vocal cords. So, ok, something that could potentially kill us can, in small doses, be helpful in relieving muscle spasms of all kinds.

The Birth of Botox

The Year is 1989, and the FDA approved botulinum toxin type A for treatment of crossed eyes and eye muscle spasms. Through a miracle of marketing genius, the botulism poison that had once killed German sausage eaters was renamed “Botox” and treatments took off like wildfire. Through further experimentation it was found that Botox also temporarily cured excessive sweating and some symptoms of cerebral palsy. After the botox treatments, patients were monitored closely for any negative side effects of Botox treatments.

A breakthrough in keeping us looking younger was on the horizon. In the 1990s, Dr. Jean Carruthers noticed that many of the patients being treated with Botox were surprisingly wrinkle-free. Using this information, Dr. Carruthers and her husband, a dermatologist, conducted various clinical studies that confirmed the ability of Botox to reduce frown lines and wrinkles on the human face.

Botox Now

Today, Botox is so widely accepted that you can go to a botox party and have your lips injected right on the spot. The fear of negative side effects is almost none existent. So much so that Botox Sales in 2006 exceeded billion. Starting out as a deadly poison killer Botox has quickly transformed itself into a successful cosmetic treatment that helps millions of people look younger everyday.

Botox also remains a staple for non-cosmetic treatments, like reducing muscle spasms in cerebral palsy patients, uncrossing eyes, and relieving patients of embarrassing facial twitches and spasms. Botox treatments are not permanent and must be repeated every three to six months. Most patients are so pleased with the results that they ave no problem returning to the doctor regularly for scheduled treatments. The early fears of botox no longer prevail and although there are a low number of cases each year that result from negative side effects of botox, it is clear that botox is here to stay.

12 Free application you should have

12 Free application you should have

MY OPINION

* You know that there’s lots of free software out there – but you also know that some of it is better than others.
* So when you’re first starting out, how do you choose what to use? And isn’t software you pay for always going to be better? Not necessarily.
* While there is of course a lot of really great paid software out there, there are also many free applications that have much, if not more of the functionality of their paid competition.
* Open source in particular often has the advantage of being so well tested by so many different developers that the software can be more stable that the paid alternative.
* There are some advantages to buying software – most paid applications have a degree of support attached, which means if something goes wrong, you have an email address or a phone number to contact.
* With free software, more often than not, you don’t have any direct support.
* There are however typically forums and guides out there though that cover most of the most common issues associated with the software.
* Here I’ve arranged a list of my 12 favorite free applications and why I like them.
* Many of these are used by all the Affilorama staff as-well.
* While many of you may be familiar with some of these applications, I encourage you to check out the other ones if you haven’t already.

1. Firefox

* Many people never consider changing there web browser from the one that comes with their computer.
* If that’s you and you’re still using Internet Explorer or Safari, I highly recommend you check out Firefox.
* Not only is it a highly stable browser that doesn’t run into many of the problems that Internet Explorer does, it also has an awesome range of free plugins that provide some incredible functionality – including some SEO and Social Media plugins that I’ve listed below which I also recommend you check out.

Plugins:

* SEO Toolbar: From the gurus over at SEOBook.com, SEO Toolbar extension for Firefox gives you heaps of information for any page you’re on, including Google Pagerank, links to the domain, page links, directory links, site age, monthly unique visits and traffic value.
* Firebug: Firebug brings a whole bunch of great web-development tools into your browser, allowing you to edit and debug as well as view all the CSS, HTML and JavaScript on any web page.
* Social Media for Firefox: This handy little plugin makes it easy to see the popularity of a page on the social bookmarking services Digg, Delicious, Mixxx, Reddit, StumbleUpon and Sphinn as well as Twitter and Tip’d. Also allows you to submit content to these services really easily from the bottom of your browser.
* Google Toolbar: While Firefox comes with a Google Search box, the Google toolbar gives you more functionality as well the ability to access your Gmail from any page you’re on. Bit.ly Preview: Ever weary of those shortened URLs on Twitter? This handy little tool allows you to preview what the site is you will be sent to as well as giving you the ability to shorten URLs and copy them to the clipboard just from the right click menu.
* SearchStatus: Another great SEO toolbar, giving Pagerank, Alexa Rank, Compete Rank and MozRank as well as serveral other great SEO analysis tools from a dropdown menu.
* Twitbin: Access your Twitter account right from a browser sidebar. Also allows you to access your @Replies and Direct Messages, as well as quickly reply or message other users. One of the simplest and most practical Twitter apps I’ve seen.

2. AVG Free

* A good virus checker is one of the most important things you need on your computer, and AVG Free is the only one I ever use.
* While there are a lot of other free virus checkers on the market, I just find it really reliable and easy to use.
* I like it so much that I if I buy a new computer that comes with a expensive virus checker license, I will un-install it and install AVG instead!

3. AdAware Free

* You may have spyware or adware running on your computer and not even realize it!
* Never mind the potential security risk from software that could be stealing passwords and other personal information, spyware and adware slows down your computer! And that’s just a pain.
* AdAware free is one of the most popular security applications in internet history, with over 250 million downloads! 250 million can’t be wrong – this is a great piece of software.

4. Zone Alarm Free

* While Windows does come with a pretty good firewall, it’s not particularly customizable.
* Zone Alarm is a really great application, allowing you to set what software is able to access the internet as well as blocking other computers from trying to access your system.
* While it can sometimes slow things down a bit, and it takes a bit to get set up at the start (you have to set permissions on every piece of software you run), I still personally enjoy the added security.

5. Open Office

* Do you want Microsoft Office, but you can’t afford the hundreds of dollars it costs? Well look no further! Open Office offers a complete desktop publishing suite including equivalent applications for Word (Writer), Excel (Calc), Access (Base), Powerpoint (Impress), as well as a drawing application (Draw) and a scientific mathematics program (Math).
* It can also save in Microsoft Office formats like .doc, .xls and .ppt (2003 format)

6. Thunderbird + Lightning

* From the same developers as Firefox, Thunderbird, an email client, combined with Lightning, a calendar add-on, offers a real, viable alternative to Outlook.
* You can use it as the integrated platform, or use it as a stand alone email client and calendar application (the stand-alone calender is called Sunbird).
* While it may still lack some of the functionality of Outlook, it’s still a very good piece of software providing all the functionality the majority of users require.

7. Orbit Downloader

* This is one of my personal favorite applications; Orbit is a download manager that monitors your browser for file downloads.
* Instead of simply saving file through your browser, Orbit breaks the file into several chunks and downloads them simultaneously making the download far quicker – no matter what you’re connection speed.
* It also allows you to capture and save streaming content like video and audio (though make sure you’re not copying copyrighted content).
* Lastly, it keeps all your downloads in one place and allows you to organize them from the interface.
* Highly recommended.

8. Kompozer

* A fantastic free WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) web authoring program similar to Dreamweaver.
* While not offering the same degree of functionality, Komposer is designed to be very easy to use for non-technical computer users who want to create great looking web pages without knowing HTML.
* Also integrates a FTP site manager for uploading your files to the server.

9. Wordpress

* Wordpress is one of the most popular blog platforms on the internet.
* Wordpress gives you a great, customizable system for creating great looking stand-alone blogs (as oppose to blogs hosted by other services like Blogger.com).
* There are also heaps of great plugins including really effective SEO plugins.
* Wordpress’s popularity and ease of use is one of the reasons we included a custom Wordpress template in the recent release of AffiloBlueprint 2.0.

10. Traffic Travis

* There’s so much SEO software out there it can be quite hard to find something that’s easy to use, but also does everything you need it to.
* Traffic Travis has heaps of features in it’s free version, including keyword tool, on-page SEO critic and PPC analysis tools.
* We use this software heaps in the office, and it’s just a really reliable general SEO tool. Highly recommend.

11. VideoLan

* Have you ever had trouble with not being able to play a downloaded video file because it’s in a strange format or your media player says there’s some trouble with codecs? Look no further.
* I have yet to find anything this program can’t play – and I often use it as a back up when my Window Media Player throws a tantrum and decides it can’t play something.
* Also features a complete streaming server, and heaps of cool downloadable skins for changing the look of the player.

12. Paint.Net

* We all know Photoshop is a great piece of software, few of us have the money to invest in the profession-level piece of software.
* Paint.Net actually started as a student project at a university, designed to replace Microsoft Paint.
* Instead, Paint.
* Net has grown into an application that allows you to do much of the same kind of image creation and editing you can do in Photoshop – all for free.
* If you want to add some great graphics and retouched photos to your website, but don’t have the money to invest in Photoshop, I definitely recommend you check this out.

What You Should Know About Trackback Spam

What You Should Know About Trackback Spam

Trackback facilitates communication between blogs. When a blogger writes a new entry whether to comment on or refer to an entry found at another blog, the commenting blogger can notify the other blog with a Trackback ping. The receiving blog will display summaries and links to all the commenting entries below the original entry. Trackback spam is when Trackback pings to a site that directs viewers to a totally unrelated URL.

Trackback Explained

Trackback as initially released is an open specification both as a protocol and as a feature of Movable Type 2.2. This contained the first implementation of Trackback. It has always been planned as an open system or a system that could easily be implemented in other blogging tools. This is because of the fact that the real value of Trackback can only be realized when many sites support it.

Basically, Trackback is designed to provide a method of notification between websites. This is a way of one person saying to another that “This is something you may be interested in”. This can be done when a person sends a Trackback ping to the other.

Trackback is a form of remote comments where one person who wishes to comment on a post in another person’s blog writes a post on his own weblog rather than posting the comment directly on the other person’s weblog. The person commenting simply sends a Trackback ping to notify the other. Of course, this is only possible when both blogging tools support the Trackback protocol.

Trackback is likewise a form of content aggregation. When a person writes a post on a topic that a group of people are interested in, he/she sends a Trackback ping to a central server whereby all visitors can read all posts about the topic. Anyone interested in reading about a specific topic could look at the site to continue being updated on what bloggers have to say about it.

Blogging software that supports the Trackback protocol displays a “Trackback URL” along with every entry. This URL is used by the commenting blogger to send XML-formatted information about the new entry to this URL through his/her software. There are some blogging tools that are able to discover this Trackback URL automatically while others require the manual entry by the commenting blogger.

The protocol of Trackback is based on the principle of initiating the connection when sharing of information is desired rather than waiting for this same information to be discovered by other websites. Sites can communicate about related resources and are able to accomplish the automatic listing of all sites that have referenced a particular post. The ping also provides a firm, explicit link between entries as opposed to an implicit link that depends upon outside action.

Trackback is particularly useful in finding out whether other people are thinking well enough about what a person has written on a weblog to actually link to it. However, allowing Trackback links will require more site maintenance to remove Trackback links that are no longer valid. The capability of listing anyone who has placed a link to a site on one’s blog can be abused by spammers.

Trackback Spam

The flood of Trackback initiated by spammers can put a strain on server resources. The amount of Trackback spam that a site is getting may be seen by clicking on “Trackbacks” from the main blog menu and select “Junk Trackbacks”. The repeated pinging of one’s server even at hundreds of times an hour by spammers can cause server CPU overloads and crashes and can result to having the web host shut down the affected account.

There are some defensive measures that can be taken, one is to moderate all Trackbacks. The MT 3.2 allows for approval of all Trackbacks before being posted to a site. Closely related to this is the limiting of unnecessary Trackback usage. Trackbacks are pointless when no one tracks a site back. Not everything needs to be “Trackbackable” so prudence in determining the difference is required. This move is all about giving the spammers less opportunities to play at one’s expense.

The use of the powerful anti-spam Movable Type Plugin called Spam Lookup is another option. Being hit by a flood of Trackback spams can be stopped by looking for the common unwanted words or specific strings to block. Spam Lookup uses PERL Regular Expressions thus by adding a few characters to the keywords; more flexibility in what is being blocked is attained.

Spam Lookup can be configured at the blog or installation level. Configuring at the installation level is suitable for those who have just one blog or want any setting to apply across all the blogs on one’s installation of Movable Type. When settings are intended only to apply to one blog, one can configure Spam Lookup using the Plugins Tab of the Settings Item on the weblog menu.

The plugin has three options in its anti-spam arsenal. It looks up the source IP address of the comment or Trackback and compares it with several centralized blacklist servers. There is an option to force moderation of the comment and adjust its junk status when the IP address is found on the blacklist server. It also looks up the domain names of the posted links. The plugin is likewise able to compare the IP of the source URL of the Trackback with the IP it was sent from. The blog software sending the ping is usually on the same server as the blog itself. Most spams are sent from zombie machines and not from the website thus this sort of spam can be detected.

Link settings are also looked into. A comment that has no links is unlikely to be spam as blog spams generally aim to link to a dodgy site to improve its rankings in search engines. Any comment or Trackback that has more than a certain number of links shall be forcibly moderated.

The keyword filter setting act upon keywords in comments and will replicate some functionality of MT-Blacklist. This is an incredibly powerful feature except that the plugin, by default hardly has any keywords in it. The WordPress Wiki is a good place to find a list that can be pasted in.

The Trackback validator plugin for WordPress performs a simple but very effective test on all Trackbacks in order to stop spam. The plugin retrieves the web page located at the URL included in the Trackback when one is received. The Trackback is approved when the page contains a link to one’s weblog. If the page does not link, the Trackback is flagged as spam and rejected. Since Trackback spammers do not set up custom web pages linking to the weblogs they attack, this test would quickly reveal illegitimate Trackbacks.

Should a small business hire the services of a SEO consultant?

Should a small business hire the services of a SEO consultant?

There are many small businesses these days that are using the Internet to promote their products and services. Like other businesses, they are also approaching a search engine optimization consultant or a social media marketing consultant to promote their websites. However, in quite a few cases, the small businesses retract their online endeavors because they don’t get the desired result. It is important for them to know how to go about this task of using the Internet as a promotional tool and also how to choose the right SEO consultant or social media marketing consultant to promote their websites.

The question is – why should a small business use the Internet to promote its products and services? In most cases, these small businesses operate locally and there is really no need to spend money to get promoted on the Internet. There is a reason. Say for example, there is the local gift shop which used to be quite popular. Suddenly, the owner realizes that sales have come down drastically. On investigation, the owner finds out that the same gifts are available on various websites and people are finding it easier to pay online through credit card and getting the merchandize delivered at home. They are not finding it feasible enough to walk to the shop and buy the same gift. Moreover, the online market is open 24 hours a day and 365 days a week. The owner than creates his or her own website and promotes it using a SEO consultant or social media marketing consultant. As a result, sales go up again because the customers find it a better option to buy from a local dealer than someone located on the other side of the country. That is why it is important for small businesses to use the Internet to promote business.

When it comes to promoting a website, the small business owners will find it much easier to hire the services of a SEO consultant or social media marketing consultant. These people are specialized in doing this job. The small business owner can go about his or her job of managing the business and let a social media marketing consultant or a search engine optimization consultant to handle the promotion part.

The next question is whether the small business owners use the services of a social media marketing consultant or a search engine optimization consultant to promote the business. Both of these go hand in hand and if used effectively, can produce the desired result. A social media marketing consultant will use the social networking sites like Facebook or Twitter to market a website. That will include starting and running a blog, writing a lot of articles and posts and adding a whole lot of videos and so on. A professional social media marketing consultant will create an account and then chalk out the strategy to promote the business. Similarly, a SEO consultant will do a whole lot of research, come up with the right keywords and use other SEO techniques to promote the website. It is difficult to say which one will work better. Proper utilization in proper hands will do the job.

SEO Press Release Services: 5 Reasons Your Company Should Use Them

SEO Press Release Services: 5 Reasons Your Company Should Use Them

Using press release services for SEO is a classic example of pr’s evolving with the times. This can be a great benefit for small businesses because a high search engine page rank definitely leads to more consumers finding them.

In days past, a pr would be mailed or blasted out via wire services. They would go to various journalists and media outlets who would then decide if the release merited further attention and distribution. Typically, the shelf life of a pr was very short.

But thanks to the internet, pr’s can now be distributed quickly to a mass audience. Better yet, they can remain online for a very long time. The pr has evolved very nicely because consumers, journalists, bloggers, analysts, and even competitors are constantly seeking new information!

The press release has become more than just a media relations tool. With being able to include various images, video clips, infographics, and links to other web pages, pr’s really are somewhat of a mini web page. Consider also the option to share them on social networks. This gives them another life they never previously had.

Because of these expanded uses of pr’s in today’s online world, they have become a great way to optimize a site with the search engines. Let’s examine five reasons why businesses should use press releases services for SEO purposes:

1) Unsolicited pr’s don’t have a good chance of going much further than the initial mailing. Journalists and bloggers are more likely today to use search engines to research and get the stories and information they’re looking for.

It’s really a timing issue. But distributing an optimized pr increases the odds that it will be seen.

Optimized pr’s distributed and hosted by any number of press release services can gain a big audience. In addition to professional writers searching for and finding them, consumers do too.

2) Companies can include links in their pr’s that lead back to their website. Many pr distribution services allow you to also add anchor text links. These can leads back to various pages on their site, not just the main page. These can have a huge effect on the site’s search engine ranking.

3) As the company gains more visibility with the pr in search engines, they increase their chances of being seen. With that comes greater potential of being written about by bloggers and other media which gains even more exposure for the company and website.

4) Additional links back to your site are being created when others write about your business. That’s because they generally will include at least the website’s URL. You can boost your search engine ranking this way, too.

5) An optimized pr addressing issues of a company can show up in the same search engine results as the negative news regarding the company. This becomes an effective way to overcome, or at least neutralize, poor press.

These are just 5 great reasons why any company can benefit from press release services for SEO purposes. Examine your business, find newsworthy items, and begin optimizing your business online. The end results will be worth the effort!

Tools That Every Single Internet Marketer Should Know Regarding Increased Website Traffic

Tools That Every Single Internet Marketer Should Know Regarding Increased Website Traffic

If you’re a smart web developer or internet marketer, you’ll make use of every element that promotes increased website traffic. It sound’s terribly easy, right? Think again. The key to good and effective search engine optimization or SEO is balance, and sometimes striking a balance is easier said than done.

Keyword density

By now, you should already know that the text in your website is a major tool that promotes increased website traffic. Unless you optimize the text in your website with significant keywords, the search engine crawlers won’t be able to recognize you.

Some internet marketers, though, make the mistake of over-optimizing their website. This means publishing articles that are too rich with keywords. These articles will tend to look totally useless for the human readers. You need to learn how to incorporate keywords into your text without making it seem unnatural, awkward or annoying. In other words, when you’re employing SEO tactics, you need to use your guy feeling and avoid overdoing things. Only include the keywords to your text when called for. If you’re unsure about how you should pull this off, you can always get professional web content writers to do this for you.

Simple but effective layout

Another thing you need to control when you’re planning your website is the layout. Amateur website designers tend to overdo flash images, graphics, and multiple frames. While these tools look fancy to the human eye, they don’t help much in getting the website ranked higher on search engines.

Remember, the key to effective SEO is balance. Make sure that you’re not incorporating elements into your design that aren’t necessary. If you can deliver your sales pitch without resorting to frames, make do with a simpler layout. Remember, flash images and photos take a lot of bandwidth, and they have very minimal text that search engine crawlers can detect.

If you’re placing a flash image into your website, remember that the more complicated it is, the slower it’ll upload on the visitor’s browser. Apply elements sparingly if they don’t contribute to page rankings online anyway.

Hoodia Side Effects: Should you be Concerned?

Hoodia Side Effects: Should you be Concerned?

You’ve heard all about the wonders of hoodia gordonii and how it could help you finally reach your weight loss goals. The current popularity of this powerful and natural appetite suppressant can be traced back to a BBC documentary and a 60 minutes report that aired in the early 2000’s. Ever since then, dieters across the globe have been using it to stave off hunger and to help them with their weight loss.

Should these dieters be concerned about any hoodia gordonii side effects? At the time of this writing, the answer is no. There have been no reported side effects from taking hoodia diet pills. However, there are still a few precautions to keep in mind.

The San Bushmen of the Kalahari Desert have been eating this cactus-like plant for centuries to stave off hunger during long hunting trips without any known hoodia side effects. However, they use it sparingly. Scientists and researchers don’t know what the long term side effects are of daily use.

Although hoodia gordonii is very familiar to the Bushmen, it is relatively new to the rest of the world. And unlike other natural weight loss supplements that have been around for a while, it doesn’t have a lengthy track record so the potential dangers over the long-term are unknown.

While there are currently no known hoodia side effects, daily use of hoodia diet pills may prove to be dangerous over the long term as we learn more about them and their effects on dieters. If you recall, when ephedra was first introduced it was considered completely safe until adverse side effects were discovered and it was ultimately banned. Granted, hoodia is much different than ephedra as ephedra is a stimulant. The point is it could prove to be harmful in the future. Today that seems unlikely, but hoodia supplements haven’t been around long enough to say that they are completely safe for long-term use.

Hoodia gordonii side effects on women who are pregnant or nursing have not been determined. If you are pregnant or nursing, you should probably avoid taking any products that contain it. If you insist on trying any hoodia products, you should exercise extreme caution and consult your doctor first.

There are really only two potential hoodia side effects at this time: loss of money and starvation. Authentic hoodia gordonii diet pills cost about per bottle and will only last two to three weeks if taken regularly. You could easily spend up to 0 for a one-month supply and it doesn’t seem likely the prices will come down anytime soon.

When I talk about starvation, I don’t mean literally starve, but rather eating so little food that your body goes into starvation mode. Hoodia appetite suppressants can be very effective if used properly. If you over do it, your appetite could be so severly suppressed that you don’t eat as much as you should. Most dieters make the mistake of believing that less food (less calories) is the key to weight loss. Nothing could be further from the truth.

When you deprive your body of calories, it goes into starvation mode to protect itself. It slows down its metabolism to conserve what little calories you give it. The result is you burn less calories and what little calories you consume are stored as fat. It’s important you continue to eat a regular, healthy diet while taking hoodia diet pills so that your body gets the calories it needs to keep your metabolism burning.

Other than taking a hit in the wallet and running the slight risk of not eating enough, these are currently the only known hoodia gordonii side effects.
